Shalom,
We are learning Hebrew! I am so exited about this and so are the children. We have started by learning the Aleph-bet and the nikud (vowels). It didn't take us long to learn them. We used several free resources from the internet and YouTube. Our favorite has been a wonderful song from Shalom Sesame.

Shalom,
We are learning Hebrew! I am so exited about this and so are the children. We have started by learning the Aleph-bet and the nikud (vowels). It didn't take us long to learn them. We used several free resources from the internet and YouTube. Our favorite has been a wonderful song from Shalom Sesame.
Another resource we use come from Kefar Puplishing http://kefarpublishing.com/kefar-korner/hebrew/. T'helah has such wonderful free resources and books for purchase. She also runs a blog by the same name.
In our homeschool day we have an hour allotted for learning the original language of our people but we get so involved and have so much fun learning that we ALWAYS go over the one hour. Now everyone knows that learning a new language can be quite costly especially for a large family so naturally I tend to look for cheap or free resources. I decided to bring you a list of resources I have found that are either inexpensive or free for use in the learning of our language. Check out this list and always keep what love throw out what you don't!
These are resources to help get you started:
Shalom Sesame
Kefar Publishing

Once you have learned your letters and sounds you should move on to reading and writing Hebrew script. Below are some resources for that: *some of these resources will begin again with letter sounds but this will help cement the language
